VIRTUAL 8-WEEK GROUP MEDICAL VISIT PROGRAMS (GMV)

The intention of our interactive GMV programs are to provide the guidance of a physician to help you not only survive but give you the tools to thrive in times of uncertainty and great change.

These programs consist of one 90-min group per week for 8-weeks plus home study and practice.

*Eligible to be covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP) for residents of BC with relevant medical diagnosis.

PREGNANCY 101

Pregnancy 101 will provide prenatal education through the lens of a Maternity Doctor. Dr. Layton’s intention is to increase your sense of community, especially during COVID when it is hard to meet other soon to be parents. Discussing everything from pregnancy and all of its wonders all the way to when to go to the hospital, pain management, induction of labour, c-sections, stages of labour, what to expect in labour and potential complications, newborn testing, and postpartum contraception options.

Food as Medicine
DR. CARMEN CHORNELL, MD CCFP RYT
Tuesdays 4-5:30pm | May 11th – June 29th

This 8-week program will assist you in cultivating an anti-inflammatory diet. This research-based approach can be either a primary treatment or adjunct treatment for anxiety, depression, insomnia, fibromyalgia and chronic pain.

Exercise as Medicine

Tuesdays 4-5:30pm | March 9th – April 27th

This 8-week program is designed to get movement back in your life! Each week will consist of an activity, ranging from walking, yoga, weights, cardio, followed by a lecture and discussion.

Re•Start Program for Stress, anxiety + BURNOUT

Tuesdays 4-5:30pm | May 11th – June 29th
This 8-week program will assist you in releasing and managing stress-overload, which can negatively impact your physical and mental health. Through online community, group process, and stress specific yoga + meditation it is designed to replace ineffective and destructive coping mechanisms. COVID proof, it can be done at home over Zoom. It combines evidence-based approaches with experiential transformation.
