Socrates believed that the unexamined life was not worth living. Only in striving to come to know ourselves and to understand ourselves do our lives have any meaning or value.
Similarly, clinical counselling involves a working relationship with an expert guide who is uniquely positioned to help you uncover innate wisdom and discover self-knowledge to live a meaningful life, bereft of regret and unrealized potential… OR if you just need a tune-up, no need to make the “noble choice” in the face of death like good ol’ Socrates, just book an appointment to get back on track.
*We work within our scope of expertise, which does not include active suicidality, psychosis or personality disorders. If you are suffering from one of these issues please see your healthcare provider for an appropriate referral.*

A little stress in our lives can help us get things done, focus and even motivate us to make significant life changes for the better… but when it gets to be too much it often leads to “distress” a negative state that actually causes many of the stress-related health problems we struggle with, including substance misuse and addictions. In counselling, we focus on the non-medical aspects of stress-related health problems and addiction, that create and fuel maladaptive behaviours and mental states.
Research shows that those with a better ability to empathize and be compassionate are at a higher risk of developing secondary stress disorder or compassion fatigue. The poor health and burnout that can result affects us both personally and professionally. We specialize in helping Healthcare Professionals, whether you are looking for a critical incident debrief, navigating a complaint or need another perspective for a personal issue, we know where you’re coming from.
Relationship endings and transitions can be times of great strain but also of accelerated growth. Intimacy reactions, attachment insecurity, rekindling attraction and getting over your ex is what we do best.
Existential Angst is a normal, natural side effect of being alive and tends to occur during different life cycles, whether in your 20’s or mid-life. Something is off and you can’t quite put your finger on it. A low-level anxiety that never leaves. A sense that your life should be more than it is. Exploring this can lead to meaningful and fruitful insights.
Have you lost your way; have you lost your balls; have you lost your balls along the way? Get ‘em back! Maybe it’s time to upgrade your operating system and stop waiting for things to go back to the way they were… Let’s work together to get you back in the game.
