Beyond the Hype.
New Canadian Study Brings Psychedelics into Everyday Wellness from Home.
Thank you to those who replied last week. I am glad the resistance newsletter resonated with you.
This week, a major shift is happening in how we approach mental wellness, and it’s happening right here in Canada. A new approved clinical trial was announced in Ontario to study psilocybin for generalized anxiety. This is the first-ever Health Canada approved clinical trial of at-home micro-dose psilocybin to treat anxiety (news article, clinical trial info).
This is a big deal. For years, the conversation around psychedelics has focused on treating severe, life-altering trauma. This study moves the focus toward the common, everyday struggles that keep good people from feeling great.
Many of us live with a low-grade hum of anxiety or dissatisfaction. It’s not a full-blown crisis, but it’s a persistent static that drains energy and clouds focus. We learn to live with it, accepting it as the price of admission for a busy life.
This new research isn’t just about “treating anxiety,” though. It’s about what happens when you turn down that static. The background noise of anxiety often masks a deeper signal—a quiet call for more meaning, connection, or a change in direction. When your mind is constantly occupied with low-level stress, there’s no bandwidth left to think about your purpose.
Curious about your own level of “static”? You can take a brief, confidential online GAD-7 screening test to get a better sense of where you’re at. It’s a simple tool, not a diagnosis, but it can be a helpful starting point.
This week, consider this: What is the low-grade static in your own life? And what might happen if you had the tools and the space to finally address it?
If you’re ready to turn down the noise and figure out what it’s been masking, let’s connect. Booking a 1:1 session is the best next step. Here is the link.
Take care,
Wishing you a great rest of the day.
